What is a ‘thunk’?

Every week the children and staff are presented with a ‘thunk of the week’, but what is a thunk? It is a thought provoking question with no right or wrong answers. It is designed to be a question that gets your brain going and builds a discussion. We are encouraging staff, parents and children to share their opinions and thoughts on every thunk. There are already many interesting thoughts and comments on the new ‘thunk of the week’, please share yours by clicking on the link at the bottom of this web page.

The school residential to Wick Court was another great success!

22 children enjoyed a wonderful week away at Wick Court between Friday 11th and Friday 18th January.

Wick Court is a fifteenth century manor house with a moat, set close to the River Severn in Gloucestershire.  Wick Court is a low impact farm with local breeds of pigs and cows.  It also has a busy stable yard, where the children help care for horses and ponies.  The children learn about different farming styles and also enjoy helping out at a neighbouring commercial dairy farm.  Wick Court also keep chickens, ducks and sheep on their farm.  The children love working with and learning all about the different animals in a fun and safe environment.

We thought we were staying an extra night due to the heavy snow fall but the local farmers kindly ploughed the roads while the children enjoyed playing in the snow, enabling us to walk the children across the snowy fields and board the coach after lunch.Â

Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to the Robin Hood Primary School website. We hope that you find the site useful and interesting.  Over the year we aim to make it a first port of call for information about our school.

We pride ourselves in providing a happy, safe and enjoyable school experience for the children and have very committed and skilled staff who work very hard to provide a very good education for every pupil.  The school was judged as good with outstanding features in its last OFSTED inspection in 2009 and has continued to improve the provision it offers since then.  We believe in educating ‘The Whole Child’ and through a thematic approach to teaching ensure that the children have access to a broad and balanced menu of activities in school and outside of school, which enables them to enjoy a wide range of experiences.  I hope that you enjoy looking at our site and if you have any suggestions as to how it might be improved please contact the school by email or telephone.
